Floral Card- Altenew Challenge

Hi friends !

How's your weekend going? As for me, I managed to make a card to play along a challenge after ages, so yes, my weekend is going great ;)

June 2017 Inspiration Challenge – White On White Focal Point
I loved  June month's Altenew Inspiration Challenge picture and decided to make a card inspired the gorgeous floral bouquet of deep pink and light yellow coloured flowers against the light gray backdrop.

The design of this card was inspired by Ardyth's card I saw here. I'm a huge admirer of Ardyth's work and there are so many of her cards I wish to CASE.

The flowers are from Altenew Hennah Elements stamps set ( I can never get bored of this stamp set) coloured using my newly bought Zig brush pens. Now I know why everybody is crazy about Zig pens.;) They are so amazing to work with.
The sentiment is from Mudra Craft Stamps- Butterfly wishes.

I'll be sending this card to a friend and decided to go with yellow envelope. Do you think this envelope goes well with the card or should I go with the one that looks less brighter?

Thanks for visiting my blog today.
Hugs !

Guest Designing For AAA Card Challenge #92

Hello bloggers!

I'm so happy to share today that I'm guest designing at AAA Cards Challenge blog for their Challenge # 92- Emboss Resist. I was a winner of their Challenge #87  and I didn't think twice when I was asked if I would like to guest design for one of their challenges. I have always enjoyed their fun themes. Thank you, Jane, for giving me this opportunity.
Emboss resist has been one of the most popular techniques amongst all the cardmakers. If you haven't tried it yet, you can do that now.

Here's my inspiration for the challenge:-

I started off by stamping the sentiment from My Favorite Things- Brushstroke Birthday stamp set in Versamark ink on a Brustro watercolour paper panel. I then heat embossed it using Ranger's white embossing powder. Then, I sponged different colours of distress inks over the embossed sentiment. Heat embossed areas resist distress inks and watercolours, and that's why the sentiment won't take any colour from the inks. Just to make it look more prominent, gently swipe over the sentiment using a soft cloth or a baby wipe to wipe off the inks over the embossed areas.
Just to add a little interest to the card, I decided to die cut two hearts from one end of the sentiment and pop up one heart die cut over the letter 'J'.

Although I did have an urge to 'just add a little something more' to the card, I'm glad I resisted it because I love how effective this looks in all its simplicity. What do you think? :)

Please do visit AAA Cards Challenge #92 and check out the beautiful inspirations from the design team members.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great Sunday !

Geometric Shaped Dies- Card #2

Hello,
I'm back with my second card of the 'geometric shaped dies' series(you can check out my first card here), and this time my card features Sizzix Framelits die set 2 pk- Tiny Stars Mini.

The most difficult and time-consuming part during making of this card was the alignment of the stars in a straight line. I hope they do look aligned though. Do you like making such cards too?

Will be coming up with more ideas soon.
Thanks for visiting :)

Geometric Shaped Dies- Card #1

Hey friends!!!

How're you all ?

In my last kit from Sizzix, I got a few tiny geometric shaped framelits dies such as circle, hexagon, triangle, scalloped circle and star dies. So, I have challenged myself to come up with some card ideas using only these geometric dies in the next few days ! I hope I manage to complete my own challenge. Great way to get my lost mojo back on track, don't you think ?

So here's the first card of the series :-

Father's day is just round the corner so I thought it would a nice idea to have few such cards in my stash. ;)

So, for this CAS card, I made use of Sizzix Framelits little bunting and Sizzix Framelits small  Scallop Circle die sets. That sentiment is hand-written, as you might have already guessed ;)

And if you are looking for some interesting patterned papers to help with your Father's day makes, there are some free paper downloads available at sizzix.co.uk

Here' the link where you can download these free patterned papers -
