October Release | Blog and Instagram Hop with Colorado Craft Company

Welcome to the October new release blog and instagram hop from Colorado Craft Company. I'm delighted to have been invited to be a part of new product reveal as well as a fun hop. And how can a reveal be complete without a fun giveaway! :) Please read my complete post to know all the details.

Let me share what I have made using the new release, which includes Thanksgiving- and Halloween-themed stamps. I made a couple of Thankgiving cards, and a tag, with the beautiful sentiments as the focal point. I've featured the stamp set namely Savvy Sentiments ~ Gratitude Slimline

I found all the sentiments very meaningful and heart-warming; that's why I decided to make these the hero of my cards and the tag.

Card #1:

My first card is pretty quick and easy to make. I started off by a watercoloured wash over an 8 by 3 inch panel of Arches watercolor paper (100 % cotton, cold-pressed) using fall colours from Whitenights watercolour set. After letting it dry, I stamped of the sentiment using Versafine onyx black ink. Mounted the panel on a Sizzix textured pastel card stock in as a base (measuring 8.5 by 3.5 inches). This is one of those easy-to-mass-produce cards.

Card #2:

The second card features a beautiful sentiment from the same stamp set, which was gold-embossed with Ranger's embossing powder. The tiny acorns were watercoloured using Whitenights Watercolours. The background panel was made by free-hand watercolouring of some leaves and berries to give the card an autumnal feel. If you enjoy free-hand watercolouring like me, you can try any free-hand patterns such as tiny pumpkins, maple leaves, or mushrooms in the background, paired with a nice, meaningful sentiment.

Tag:

This one was a last-minute plan and I love it when last-minute plans turn out beautiful. :) I had a few tag diecuts in my stash and I decided to put one of those to good use by painting some loose hearts in fall colours and pairing it with a similarly diecut vellum tag with the gold-embossed sentiment over it. Don't you think vellum and gold look elegant together, especially when accompanied by some watercolour ;)

I hope my projects inspire you to create something quick, simple, and pretty. I would love to hear your feedback. :)

Some cards with Colorado Craft Company-- September release

I was super happy when I received an email from the kind folks at Colorado Craft Company inviting me to create projects using their products. They loved the cards I had made previously using their stamps (you can view those HERE and HERE) and it is very generous of them to send me their entire product line of stamps and dies from the September release. I absolutely love their adorable stamps with co-ordinating dies. I'm sharing a few cards I made in the past few days using these.

Clean and Simple Card with MFT

 Hello bloggers,

I'm hoping you are are doing well.

It's been long since I participated in any card making challenges owing to time constraints. But this one challenge is something that I love to participate every year. Last night, I made a card for participating in  2021 Card Design Superstar Contest hosted by My Favorite Things for the Clean and Simple Genius category.

I started by diecutting a watercolour paper panel using the LOVE die from MFT Die-namics. I stamped those cute pigs from BB Hog Heaven stamp set using Spun sugar distress ink. I did no-line watercolouring using Tim Holtz distess inks (coral pink, spun sugar). Adding a third piggie peeking through the "O" window was a last minute idea, just before taping down the panel over the card base. I love the idea of that cute piggy peeking out ;) After adjusting the panel and taping it down over a 6 by 6 inch card base, I stacked a few "LOVE" diecuts and added those to their respective negative spaces, except "O." Finally, added the sentiment from MFT- Hug in a Mug Stamp set--- I like how the sentiment feels complete-- "Love makes things better" :)

Thank you for stopping by.

Autumn-themed Slimline Card with MFT

 Hello friends!

I've always wanted to try a slimline card but never got around to actually making one, until yesterday. This month's MFT Slimline Card Challenge is about making fall-themed cards and that gave me a chance to ink one of my favorite stamp sets-- MFT Harvest Mouse.

Since I'm neck-deep into watercolouring these days (and I'm absolutely enjoying it), I decided to go for a an autumnal watercoloured scenery paired with no-line colouring of the cute images.

Supplies:

Paper for card panel: Arches cold-pressed, 100% cotton

Paper for card base: Generic

Watercolours used for the background landscape scenery: Whitenights watercolours

Colours for images: Zig brush pens, distress inks

Stamps: MFT Harvest Mouse

Envelope: Handmade from textured paper from Sizzix Pastels collection

I hope you like my first slimline card. Thank you for stopping by.

Few Cards using Colorado Craft Company Stamps

 Hello friends!

Last year, I ordered a few stamps from Colorado Craft Company. I absolutely love their stamps sets, especially the ones illustrated by Anita Jeram and also the ones from the Big and Bold stamp set series. In my previous post, I used Big & Bold~Missing You Peony stamp set. You may view the card here

Today, I'm sharing three more cards I made using CCC's Anita Jeram- Birthday Wishing and Anita Jeram--Better Together.

Card #1

I stamped the images using Versafine Onyx black ink and coloured these using White Nights watercolours. The background over the card base was also made using the same watercolours and a Number 0 brush.

Card #2

For card #2 as well, I used Whitenights watercolours. I wanted a happy, bright background to go with the happy sentiment and the clean focal image; therefore, I decided to paint some yellow-coloured stripes using the same watercolours.

Card #3

For this one, I decided to create a nice little scenery with no-line watercolouring of the main images. The colours I used for this one were Zig Clean Color Brush Pens, whereas the paper I used was Arches watercolor paper. I like how it has turned out.

I hope you liked the cards that I shared today.
Happy crafting! Take care and stay safe.

And here's my card for the hop

That gorgeous floral stamp is from Colorado Craft Company's Big & Bold~Missing You Peony stamp set. The word "BIG" is also from the same stamp set, whereas the gold-embossed "DREAM" belongs to My Favorite Things- Adorable Elephants stamp set. I coloured the image using Tim Holtz Distress inks as well as Whitenights watercolours. I used Arches cold-pressed watercolour paper for making this one.

I'll leave you with a beautiful quote that inspired me to make this card:

"Dream Big....For if I can dream, I can act; And if I can act, I can become."

May we all strive to become the best versions of ourselves.

I'm sure you must be excited to check out the cards made by the rest of the designers. Your next stop is a very talented gentleman Joe Sysavath.
