Black-&-White

Hey everyone,
I'm back with a card inspired by the new challenge at CASology- Contrast. I love playing along with casology because the cue words they challenge us with trigger my imagination like nothing else. Hence, you will see my blog is full of CAS cards mostly inspired by these cue words. Plus they are quick to make, and provide a great outlet to my creativity.:)
Now over to my card:

The word 'contrast' reminded me of two highly contrasting colours-black and white. I have seen many crafters use this combination and I think I should use this magical combo more often in my card making.
For making is card, I cut out a section from my white card base with the help of my craft knife. Then created a negative space by sticking a suitably sized black card base on the inside using adhesive foam strips. Made a 3D star inspired by Kelly Griglione's framed creation where she made 3D stars and it looked marvellous. I love Ardyth's style of CAS cardmaking where she uses black-n-white with a little colour. So,
stamped the sentiment from Inkadinkado by inking it in three different memeto dew drop inks to give an interesting pop of colour to the black-n-white backdrop.
Hope you all liked my efforts. Thanks for stopping by.

Have a great day!! :)

A Dotty Affair !

Hello blogger pals,
I'm back today with a card again inspired by Casology week#78-Dot and also Less is more- OLC Hearts and One layer Simplicity Challenge#1. I just love it when my creation fits into multiple challenges :)
Over to my One-Layered Dotty card :-

For making this one, I first cut out a hand made 'heart' stencil and stamped inside with the help of hand made foam stamps and the small pencil-eraser. The inks used here are barn door distress ink and memento dew drop-Rose bud. I didn't have the stamps with a sentiment 'love' but had a stamp with a  love quote, so stamped it with selective masking and stamping. Finally, added a liitle natural twine bow to give a raw feel to the card. :)

Thanks for dropping by and appreciating my work always. It means a lot. :)

Happy Crafting!

Join the Dots

Hey everyone!
I'm back with a CAS card I made inspired by the challenges CASology- DotCas-ual Fridays-125RIC#51-L'wren Scott

Here's my take on them :

The cue word 'Dot' instantly reminded me of a little puzzle game we used to play as kids-Join the dots, where if the numbered dots were joined together, it revealed an image. I made my card based on the same theme where I first drew the black dots with the help of a stencil and then joined a few selected dots to show a smiley face. I have used watercolour pens here for drawing purposes. The colours have been inspired the the RIC-51 inspiration picture.

If I have to say it in one word what I hope for 2014 in one word, that would definitely be JOY- joy in all my relationships, in my work, in everything I choose to do. That's why the sentiment. I love that sentiment, it's from Fiskars-all around quotes, and I think it goes well with the theme of my card. I stamped it using memento tuxedo black ink. Finally, added some glossy accents.

Do drop in a few words about my card. I would love to hear what you have to say.

Thanks for stopping by.

What the Fish!

Hi  friends,
Don't get surprised by the title. No, I'm not swearing at anyone, but I'm referring to this card I made inspired by CASology week 77- Bubbly :) Here's my take on the cue word:

Closer view

The word 'Bubbly' can have so many interpretations. I went along with the literal meaning of it. I hand drew and cut out the fish-pot after folding my required card paper into half. Then I inked the edges using tumbled glass and faded jeans distress inks. The bubbles are made by masking and inking using these same two inks. The fish is hand drawn directly on the card base(inspired by the pic of a goldfish on the internet) and coloured using distress and memento inks. Finally, the sentiment is hand written inside the bubble.
This is my first attempt at One-layered Shaped CAS card. Would love to know your views on it.

A Colourful Birthday !

Hello dear friends,
Hope you all enjoyed the holidays. I had a great start to 2014 in our new home where we recently shifted. Unpacking and arranging stuff is still going on, and will continue for another week I guess :P Managed to take some time out to make my first card for this year inspired by CASology- Party and Cas(e) this sketch#58.

I'm not a party animal as such, but the word 'Party' reminds me of Birthdays and birthdays remind me of colours and colours remind me of butterflies :) We have party animals, and we have party butterflies too .lol..So going by that line of thought, I made this quick and simple  card.
First stamped the butterfly on the card base and stamped the same butterfly on two different card stocks, fussy cut them, used one for masking and inking with distress and memento inks and stuck the other one over the stamped image, leaving the wings free to show some movement. Finally stamped the sentiment, added some colourful sequins and my birthday card's ready. Both the stamps are from Fiskars.

Hope  you liked my attempt at the sketch and the cue word. Thanks for dropping by and have a fabulous day! :)
