Hello Friends!
Feels great to be posting again after a while. Last few days have been super-busy for me. I did manage to sneak in to my blogger to see what my friends have been upto, but haven't been able to comment on most of the blogs. Will try catching up soon.
First onto my card:
Today I did try to sqeeze in some 'me' time in the afternoon. Sharing this card I didn't want to miss making after I saw this week's sketch at Cas(e) this sketch-79
And then came this fortnight's Fusion inspiration sketch, which looked like a twin to the CTS sketch, and I was happy that I would be able to aim two birds with one arrow. (was inspired by the sequential arrangement of colours in the picture and the sketch)
Or rather three, the sentiment 'Greetings' is the NBUS, from a stamp set I bought from itsy bitsy but didn't get a chance to use it until now. Definitely wanted to play along Darnell's NBUS challenge#1, a celebration for reaching the 500-followers mark, where you have to dig out some of the Never Used Before stuff from your stash and well, use it now. If you still haven't come across talented Darnell's blog, well you are really missing the fun. She's one of the most warm and charming ladies I have come across and I'm so glad to have known her. I love reading her posts always.
The butterfly was stamped on a piece of vellum using Versamark ink and heat embossed using Lindy's silver EP. And yes, it shines beautifully.

Just found out that this fortnight's challenge at Inkspirational is about Clean and Simple Projects. So linking it up there too.
My dear friend Kimberly suggested that I also link this up to Paper Crafting Challenges#11 where we are supposed to use stencils in our projects. Thanks, Kimberly, I wouldn't have liked to miss playing along.
And now the making:
Stenciling with some selective masking and sponging |
Today I realised that masking tape is such a blessing for us crafters. The making of this involved some stenciling and sponging some Tim Holtz inks( Salty lake, spiced marmalade, mowed lawn, fired brick, peacock feathers, tumbled glass) after sequetial masking using the tape.
The stencil used here is from the Clear Scraps collection-Swirls.
Closer view of the heat embossed butterfly |
The butterfly was stamped on a piece of vellum using Versamark ink and heat embossed using Lindy's silver EP. And yes, it shines beautifully.
