Life's a Joyride

Do you like cards which have little sceneries in them ? Or a story to tell? I really enjoy creating such sweet scenery cards which have a lot to say with less.

I made one such card for my better half [Yes,Valentine's day special ;)] using some cutest little dies from Sizzix Lifestyle. Here it is:-

The die set I used here is Sizzix thinlits die set- Spring Time, which contains 18 varied dies including some tine florals, rabbits, butterflies, bicycle, leaves, everything Spring !! Perfect for making CAS cards with sceneries.

Those tiny flowers are die cut using foam sheets in different colours and added a touch of pearls(my favorite embellishment) to these. Sentiment, as you might have guessed, is handwritten.

Products used :-

Sizzix Big Shot Plus Machine Only(white and gray)(#660020)

Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 18 PK-- Spring Time by My Life Handmade (#662515)

White cardstock- Iris sg
Pastel Cardstock- American Crafts textured cardstock
Distress ink- Mowed lawn
pearls, micron pen,cord,coloured foam sheets.

Hope you are having a good day! Happy Valentine's day to all :)

Simple Valentine Cards

Hey friends !

I made a few Valentine cards last week but couldn't manage time for blogging about them.  I am sharing three cards, very CAS and just the way I like ;)

Linking the cards to :-

Darnell's NBUS Challenge#9 (The stamp set is NBUS. I missed the challenge# 8 but didn't want to miss the fun this time.)

Card # 1 :-

That cute image is from Your Next Stamp- Love and Smiles stamp set. I had this set in my stash since last year but I had never inked them before. Glad that I could finally put this cute set to good use.

Card # 2

This one is also from the same stamp set as above. I love the punny sentiments that perfectly co-ordiate with those cute images included in this set. :)

Card # 3:-

And this one has two heart die cuts from Sizzix Bigz die set, which were water coloured and doodled to be mounted over the scored card base. Can't get simpler than that ;)

Thanks for stopping by.

Card in the Box

Heyy Friends,
Hope you all are doing great. Today I'm sharing a Valentine themed 3D card- Card in a box to be appropriate and have used pink, white and red as the main colours. Why it's called 'card in a box', you'll know soon. Let me warn you that it's going to be a PICTURE HEAVY POST. Here are the pictures:

Card in a box

View from the left
The moment you see it opened, it looks like a box full of colourful wishes and goodies :) So technically,it's a box shaped card :)

Tried heat embossing for the first time with this butterfly.

Lying flat on closing up

The beauty of this card is that it can be easily folded flat and can be inserted into an envelope, and that makes it really apt for a hassle-free posting :)

There are many tutorials available on the internet for making it. But the one that really inspired me is this amazing video by My Stampin' Haven.
Patterned papers from DCWV-the girl stack

Supplies used:

Stamps-Fiskars-all round quotes,butterfly magic and Inkadinkadoo-Floral expressions

That's pretty much all from my side. I admit it felt so refreshing making this project after so many CAS cards.:)  Do let me know how you like it .Thanks for stopping by :)

As Fresh as February

Hello Everyone!
How have you all been? Sorry for not posting anything new and stopping by your blogs since past few days as I've been travelling and keeping busy with family. I love the month of February for many reasons-the pleasant weather with freshness in the breeze, pinks and reds all around and last but not the least it's my wedding month ;) Sharing a Valentine's day card inspired by a few challenges. We can see so many beautiful lovely love cards being posted these days, some like it cute, some like it mushy, I like it funny ..lol. Here take a look:

Talk about being subtle..lol :P .. Well, I have tried to incorporate some humour through this pin-up love note styled card. Well, humour is subjective so you may get it or you my not :) I love this card because I think it's something that'll bring a smile on my hubby's face. After almost 4 years of marriage, one thing I have learnt is that men don't get subtle hints, you just have to ASK what you want.. :P As simple as that..lol

For making it, I stamped the base with Kaisercraft texture stamp and added some splatters of acrylic paint to give a texture. Then roughly teared up a small piece of paper from a notebook, inked the edges, wrote the sentiment and added a bouquet of quilled roses. That was all about my simple and quick love-note card.

How do you like it? Did you find it funny or not? As much as I welcome positive comments, I'm equally open to negative ones too. I think they help me grow better :) So please be free with your comments.

Have a 'Love'ly day!!
