Indian Quilling Challenge # 15--Box it up---DT post

Hello friends !!

This month's theme at the Indian Quilling Challenge is to make any quilling project associated with a box. Like, you can choose to decorate a box with quilling, or make a quilled box itself, anything that tickles your imagination, but it should have some kind of box in it.

So, here's what I made as my DT inspiration project:--

I made an explosion box, but it's a little different kind of explosion box. Had never seen this kind of box anywhere, just an idea struck and I thought of giving it a try.

What's different in it, you may ask. Well, firstly, two of the four sides of this 2.5 by 2.5 inch box are transparent, that is, I have made an acetate window so that we can peep inside the box. :) And secondly, when it's opened, there's a cute little springy scene there, with all those little blooms ,the ladybug , the bumblebee, butterfly, etc. And except the butterfly, everything is quilled :)

Everytime I craft, my 3 year old daughter asks me, "Mamma, is this for me? "  So, I decided to make something specially for her, something she would like to look at everyday. To make it more fun and interactive, I have attached all the quilled elements to a spring, so that when she touches them , they  wriggle. :) ..She loved it and just couldn't resist opening the lid again and again to see the box open up to a lovely scene. :) Well, my biggest admirer likes it. What more do I need? :)

Musical Congrats

Hello friends !!

Quickly sharing a card inspired by Cas-ual Fridays#137--Springtime melodies, where the challenge is to create a music-themed card in spring colours.

Recently, a friend of mine had requested to make a CAS  Congrats card for her friend who would be getting married soon. And since Indian weddings are incomplete without some music and dance, I thought why not make it a musical congrats. :)

Here's what I came up with:-

Pretty simple and quick  . Some masking, sponging, stamping and it was done. And it's one-layered too. :)

The music notes stamp is from Inkadinkado cling stamp set and the sentiment is from the alphabet stamp set from Inkadinkado again. Sponging is done using memento inks.

Congrats

Hello friends,

The other day a friend requested me to make some 'Congratulations' cards for her sister and a friend who are getting married very soon. I was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this sketch challenge#112 to make one of the cards and this is what I came up with:-

And the sketch it got inspired from-

 I stamped the Penny black dazzlers stamps over a piece of card stock in a random manner, concentrating the stamping over the middle third area. Then I cut the stamped panel into two, to be arranged later. Then on the card base, I sponged some memento dew drop inks (angel pink, dandelion, new sprout, lavender, summer sky-- all lighter shades)  in the middle third area, stamped 'Congrats' using Inkadinkado alphabet stamp set and arranged the cut-out stamped panels over the card base.

Since it is supposed to be an Indian wedding 'congrats' card, I wanted it to have some celebratory and festive vibes to it and at the same time, keep it CAS. Hope I've succeeded at that and they like it.

Indian Quilling Challenge # 13 DT post- Anything goes with hearts

Hello dear friends !

Hope you are enjoying creating some pretty stuff for your dear ones in this season of love. Even if you don't celebrate Valentine's day, I'm sure you couldn't help but relish the infectious love-filled atmosphere all around. Streets are flooded with people buying flowers, cards and chocolates for their loved ones.

And since we are all blessed with creativity and love doing things differently, why not greet them with our own sweet handmade goodness?

 So, today I'm sharing a couple of love-themed cards with quilled hearts, which I made as my DT inspiration for this month's Indian Quilling Challenge-- Anything goes with Hearts.

First card:--

and Beyond grey challenge- moodboard and stamping( my card has the stamped bicycle with the couple and the hearts from the mood board)

Second card:----

The first one shows heart-shaped balloons while the second one is a shaker card, showing a jar filled with quilled heart-shaped candies. Looks yummy, isn't it?
The hearts are made by sticking together two quilled tear-drop shapes, using 3 mm quilling strips from the red family pack.

There are so many different ways you can use these hearts in your creations, like, you can make a cute pendant, earrings, decorate a little girls' hairband, make some cute fridge magnets, bookmarks, etc. Possibilities are endless. :)
