One Stamp, More Ways

Heyy dear friends !

Hope this post finds you in good health and spirits.

This is my second post as a DT at Lulupu-the craft lounge and today I would be sharing just the sneak peeks of a few more cards I made using the Micia clear stamp set that I had used for making my previous card HERE. Although one card was just enough and required for my this month's inspiration post, I just couldn't resist making more using that stamp set.  It is really so versatile, ideas kept coming to me while making them..so couldn't stop at one. :)

For the whole deal, you'll need to hop over to the Lulupu blog HERE. And I would love to receive your feedback there. :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a great week !!

2-0-1-6 Recipe Challenge | Lulupu Design Team

Greetings everyone!!

Sharing my first post as a Design team member at Lulupu for the January challenge#57, which is a recipe challenge. You can find the details of the 2-0-1-6 Recipe challenge HERE .
For the general guidelines to enter a Lulupu Challenge, please read HERE.

I made an interactive Double-slider card for this challenge. And the recipe I’ve used is:-

2—stamp sets

0--- die cuts/flowers

1---- washi tape

6----Patterned papers

Sharing a few pictures of the card :-
Front view--Closed card

Do you know what's the most interesting part about this kind of card? Well, if you haven't guessed yet, the interesting part s that on pulling out the upper tab, lower one comes out on it's own and on pulling out the right hand side tab, the left one peeks out ;) Same is the case on inserting the tabs back inside. (Scroll right down to check out the video below to get a clear idea)

On pulling out the upper tab

I received this super cute Micia stamp set-Floral invitation and two Washi Tapes in my DT kit. I’ve used those cutie baby images along with the sentiment ‘you are beautiful’from this stamp set. Another stamp set I’ve used is the My Favorite Things-penguins in paradise, for the sentiment’ You make my heart melt’.

The patterned papers are from the Webster pages collection.

On pulling out the right-hand side flap

Those colourful little hearts are made out of some felt fabric from my stash.
It’s a love-themed card and I wanted to give it a personal touch. So I designed the left sided flap in such a way that the giver can add a favorite picture of them and write a little handwritten personal note on the tag inside.
The lovely washi tape just adds on to the whole design.

Sponged the corner with some distress ink and sprinked some water to get that lovely texture. That bigger heart was cut out from a patterned paper and clear embossed to get that glossy finish.

Card completely opened-up
I like that quote, "Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite." Wrote that using my calligraphy pen.

The images in this Micia stamp set-Floral invitation are just perfect to make love-themed cards, cards for kids or even invitation cards. (More on that in my next post)

The pictures cannot explain the actual mechanism of this interactive card, so I’m sharing a very short video so that you get an idea about how it actually works.

I love making cards that have some story to tell. And I've attempted to do the same with this one. I’m quite happy with the way it has turned out. Would love to hear your views .

Looking forward to see what you come up with. Link up your entries HERE.

Happy Crafting!

Smooshed Background card #2--Step-by-step pictorial

 Heyy friends !!

I recently bought a couple of Jane's doodles stamp sets. I usually don't indulge in impulsive shopping, but Jane's doodles stamps are just too cute to miss, even a frugal shopper like me couldn't resist buying not just one, but two stamp sets together... ha! ;) And here's the card I made:-

Sharing a step-by-step picture tutorial of the process of the making. It's a picture heavy post. But the sizes have been adjusted. Hope you enjoy.

After the above step, the fuzzy cut images were put together and the sentiment was stamped in Archival, followed by  versamark ink and clear embossing it. And this panel was then mounted over a card base.
here's the final look again:-

Let me know your views about this card. :)

Smooshed Background

Hey Friends!

Sharing a card I made inspired by this month’s Happy LittleStampers’ CAS challenge, where we have to incorporate the smooshing technique on our CAS cards.  I love distress inks and most of us who use these inks know how versatile they can be when it comes to techniques. Don’t we all love to see the magical effect they have when blended with water.  Quickly sharing a card for you all to see the smooshed background I made:-

For those wondering what smooshing technique means, it is a very technique by which we dab the ink pads directly on our craft sheet( re-inkers can also be used instead of in pads if you prefer), acrylic block or acetate, spraying a little water over that and pressing the card stock or the paper over the ink-water mixture. The effects it produces are very beautiful, artsy and unique each and every time. Quick, Simple and effective.

For the one-layered card above, distress inks (fired brick, spiced marmalade, squeezed lemon) and rose bud memento ink were dabbed on an acrylic block, some water sprayed over it and the block was dabbed over the card base. The layers were dried using Rangers’ heat tool before repeating the steps again, until the desired effect was achieved. After letting the paper dry thoroughly, stamped the sentiment from Inkadinkado-Kid’s quotes stamp set, in Archival black ink. Stamped the same sentiment again in versamark ink over the previously stamped sentiment and clear embossed it. This is a good way to add some interest to a simple card.

Stamped some colourful hearts here and there and finally added those handmade embellishments (colour palette and paint brush ) using 3D foam tape.

A real pep-me-up card. Don’t you think? J

I would also like to thank the amazing CAS design team members at Happy Little Stampers for choosing my penguin card as one of the favorites for the December CAS challenge J

Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a lovely day.

Love,

I'm so excited to share that....

....I'm on the Lulupu Design Team for 2016 !!! I'm delighted to be a part of the Lulupu challenges, which were, perhaps, the very first craft challenges I entered in after I started blogging in August 2013. I remember being on cloud nine on receiving my first ever 'Special Mention' there ; so you can imagine my state on being on the Lulupu design team :)

I'm very grateful to Karuna for this fantastic oppurtunity and having me on-board. Lulupu has seen some of the most talented bunch of crafters out there, so the bar is raised very high. I hope I find myself close enough to meet the expectations as a DT member.

Please hop over to the Lulupu blog to view my complete introductory post.

What makes my stint as a DT member here even more exciting is the other team members I'll be working with. They are amazingly talented and wonderful ladies. Looking forward to this beautiful journey of inspiring, being inspired and growing as a crafter.

Thanks for stopping by ! See you at Lulupu. :)
